Guest Access & Living Visitors

For When the Living Show Up

Downtown Void High occasionally permits visitors from the living world and other districts. To keep everyone safe — breathing or not — we follow strict guest policies.

This page explains how visits work, who can come, and what to expect if someone you care about is allowed on campus.

Visitor Types

  • Family Visitors: Parents, siblings, or guardians who have been approved for supervised contact.
  • Educational Groups: Living students or staff from partner districts on supervised field trips.
  • Authorized Researchers: With Void Unified approval and clear limits.

Unapproved visitors, séance traffic, and unsupervised mediums are not allowed on campus grounds.

Basic Rules for Living Visitors

  • All visitors must sign in at the Main Lobby and wear a visible guest pass.
  • Visitors must remain with their assigned guide or staff member at all times.
  • No taking photos of students without their consent (including ghosts).
  • No attempting to “take anyone home” without prior arrangement.
  • Visitors must leave campus by 7:00 PM Void Standard Time.

Request a Visitor (Student Form)

Submitting a request does not guarantee a visit. Counseling and Administration will review your file and emotional safety first.

What Visits Feel Like (For Students)

Seeing someone from your old life can be comforting, overwhelming, or both. It’s okay if:

  • You’re excited and terrified at the same time.
  • You change your mind and decide you’re not ready.
  • You don’t know what to say when they arrive.
  • You feel angry they moved on or relieved that they’re okay.
Counselors can sit in on visits, wait outside, or help you prepare what you want to say. You do not have to handle it alone.

Field Trips & Group Visits (For Schools)

Partner districts interested in bringing groups of living students for educational purposes must:

  • Submit a request through Void Unified at least 4 weeks in advance.
  • Provide a detailed itinerary and supervision plan.
  • Agree to pre-visit orientation on grief, consent, and respect.

Group visits are monitored closely. Any attempts to provoke, mock, or exploit students will result in immediate removal.

Emergency Situations

If a visit becomes emotionally unsafe for a student or a visitor:

  • Staff may pause or end the visit.
  • Counseling support will be offered immediately afterward.
  • Future visits may be modified, delayed, or cancelled to protect everyone involved.

Protecting students (living, dead, and in-between) will always come before completing a visit.
